MacKinnon’s Cave Guided Walk & Beach Clean.
Mull Otter Group are hosting a guided walk to Mackinnon’s Cave. Learn about the wildlife and history of the area. The price is free but carry back as much beach litter as you can manage. The 1 hour walk to Mackinnon’s Cave can be boggy to begin with and a bit awkward around the coast […]
Nature Trails and Beach Cleans
What a busy day MOG had yesterday. First we joined Lochdonhead Primary school at their nature trail. A great opportunity for a photo at the otter sculpture and otter information board. Then it was over to Lochbuie for the Great British Beach Clean, where the children helped us survey a 100m stretch of beach. To […]
Great British Beach Clean – Lochbuie
Please join in with us for the Great British Beach Clean. Meet at the monument at Lochbuie, near the Old Post Office. Bring appropriate clothes and footwear, and gloves if you have them. We do have some gloves to lend and litter pickers.
The Great Plastic Pick Up
Come for a walk with us along the beautiful coastal path from Lochbuie to Glen Byre. You will find spectacular views, caves, cliffs and more. The path is sometimes tricky so wear sturdy footwear. Meet at the Old Post Office, Lochbuie. Walk as far as you like, fill a bag with litter, no matter how […]
Pennyghael Substation Beach Clean
This is one of those locations where there is not much rubbish at first glance but bags are soon filled. A few volunteers would be great. If more turn up a greater area could be covered, including the roadside. Meet at the substation near Pennyghael. See grey pin in below map.
Loch Beg Beach Clean
This is one of those locations where there does not appear to be a lot of rubbish but when you start gathering you soon fill bags. We need some volunteers to help! If enough people turn up then a second group could clear the coast line further round the north shore of Loch Scridain, beyond […]
Mega Beach Clean!
Mull Otter Group had a very exhausting day on Sunday 15th April. We trekked to the area just before MacKinnon’s Cave on the west coast of the Isle of Mull and gathered up years of plastic debris that had been washed in from the sea. We created a monstrous pile of rubbish which received a […]
MacKinnon’s Cave Beach Clean
WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP! This is our most ambitious beach clean yet, and due to the amount of rubbish we need as many people as possible! The job is to bag it tidily and securely for it to be collected by boat afterwards. The 1 hour walk to Mackinnon’s Cave can be boggy to […]
